This card is perfect for the kid in all of us! The colors used in this design are more feminine. You can easily make this into a masculine card by substituting the pink for more Maroon Red or any other coordinating colors to match the comic strip.

  1. Cut a 6″ x 12″ base card from the Lipstick pink cardstock. Then fold in half.
  2. Cut a 5-3/4″ x 5-3/4″ square from the Mickey Comic Strip. Distress the edges with the Milled Lavender ink. Glue this to the top of your card base from step 1.
  3. Cut two 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ squares from the Grass Roots green cardstock. Distress the edges with Peeled Paint ink.
  4. Cut two 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ squares from the Cloudless blue cardstock. Glue the blue squares on top of the green squares from step 3.
  5. Glue the green/blue squares together diagonally. The outside corners should reach the edge of the Comic Strip on the front of the card. Then glue the squares to the front of your card.
  6. Cut a 2″ x 3-1/4″ rectangle from the Lipstick pink cardstock.
  7. Cut a 1-3/4″ x 3″ rectangle from the Pastel Yellow cardstock.
  8. Cut a 1-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ rectangle from white cardstock.
  9. Stamp your Happy Birthday sentiment on the white cardstock using the pink pigment ink. Sprinkle with clear embossing powder. Remove excess powder and set with heat gun.
  10. Layer your rectangles: Glue the yellow rectangle from step 8 on top of the pink rectangle from step 7. Next glue the Happy Birthday sentiment on top of the yellow rectangle.
  11. Glue the layered rectangle to the front of the card centered on the diagonal green/blue layered squares.
  12. Now you are ready to begin making your cuts with the Cricut. Cut a 3″ <Shift><Mickey3> on Black cardstock.
  13. Cut a 3″ <Layers Face><Mickey3> on Beige cardstock.
  14. Cut a 3″ <Layers Outfit><Mickey3> on Maroon Red cardstock.
  15. Cut a 3″ <Layers Face><Shift><Mickey3> on White cardstock.
  16. Cut a 3″ <Layers Shoes><Mickey3> on Pastel Yellow cardstock.
  17. Cut a 3″ <Layers><Shift><Mickey3> on Pink cardstock.
  18. Assemble your Mickey and glue together. Using a black colored pencil follow the cut line on Mickey’s face for his eye.
  19. Using foam squares adhere Mickey to the bottom left of the front of the card. He will slightly overlap the diagonal squares and stamped sentiment.
  20. Last glue your 3 glitter star buttons to the top left, top right and bottom right corners of your layered rectangle. Voila! You have a fun one of a kind Birthday card!!!

  3. Cut a 4″ <Silhouette><HK1> on black cardstock.
  4. Cut a 4″ <Round><Shift><HK1-s> on fuchsia cardstock.
  5. Change to the Wildcard Cartridge and cut a 4.5″ <Phrase><Cupcake> on light pink cardstock.
  6. Cut a 4.5″on fuchsia cardstock.
  7. Take the fuchsia flower outline you made in step 4 and run it through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder.
  8. Assemble the Hello Kitty centerpiece and glue together.
  9. Glue the fuchsia “Happy Birthday” sentiment on top of the light pink “Happy Birthday” sentiment. Offset it slightly to the right.
  10. Cut a 2.75″ x 1.75″ rectangle from black cardstock.
  11. Glue the Happy Birthday sentiment from step 9 on top of the black rectangle from step 10. Trim the black rectangle around the letters so you are left with a wavy outline.
  12. Using the Marvy Marker, ink the flower stamp. Breathe on the stamp to activate the ink and stamp the top left corner of the premade white card. Repeat this process for each corner.
  13. Using the Star Dust Stickles, outline the center flower. Let dry.
  14. Using the Star Dust Stickles, highlight the center of each of the flowers you stamped in the corners. Let dry.
  15. Using the 1/16″ foam squares, adhere the Hello Kitty to the center of the card.
  16. Place 1/8″ foam squares on the bottom half of the “Happy Birthday” sentiment. Place 1/16″ foam squares on the top half of the sentiment.
  17. Place the sentiment so it overlaps the bottom of the Hello Kitty. Note: the 1/8″ thick foam squares should not be on the Hello Kitty. Only the thinner 1/16″ squares will be placed directly on the Hello Kitty where it overlaps. This will make the sentiment lay flat. However, if you prefer a slight angle, then use 1/8″ foam squares on the entire sentiment and slightly overlap the Hello Kitty the same way. Either way looks good. Voila! You have a beautiful birthday card.
